Some Benefits of Watercrystals

June 24, 2010
  • Watercrystals allows up to 70% in irrigation water savings. This is because the watercrystals both capture and retain water and/or moisture up to 600 times its volume. As you can see on the photo below, on the right hand side the watercrystals are there to retain the water and make it stay at the roots of the tree. On the left hand side, no watercrystals are used, and the water is just escaping down the soil making the tree need more water after a short while.

  • Watercrystals absorb available fertilizers, nutrients and mineral salts (so not only water). This will enhance the development of the root system.

  • The watercrystals membrane acts naturally as a salt shield, allowing plantations in harsh conditions where salty soils and brackish watering are involved. Watercrystals will activate the root growth independently of soil quality.

  • Watercrystals have a neutral pH. In addition, originally captured fertilizers do not pollute underground waters because they will stay close to the ground with the watercrystals, enhancing root growth.

Visualizing Watercrystals…

June 19, 2010

Here are some videos from Youtube which show how the watercrystals work. We have not produced these videos ourselves - double clicking on the video will lead you to the Youtube website where you can see the actual producers.

This video shows how you put the watercrystals in water and after a number of hours they have grown bigger (because they retain the water you put them in). In this video, the main usage is not for agriculture. But it shows, nonetheless, the idea of how the product works.

This video shows how the watercrystals absorb water and grow bigger with time.

What Are Watercrystals?

June 19, 2010

The low and erratic rainfall patterns, poor access to water sources and the high cost of irrigation systems are major constraints to agricultural development in Colombia and the world. Currently, water scarcity and limited growing areas  determine the productivity of a field. Irrigation with help of watercrystals is a green alternative to classical irrigation techniques.

• What are Watercrystals?
The watercrystal product is an irrigation system that stores water in a solid state for several weeks, resulting in a continuously moist environment around the root, increasing crop productivity, promoting root development and optimizing the use of water and fertilizer.
Their physical and chemical properties make it, when in contact with water, acquire the physical properties of a gel, holding up to 500 times its weight in water! 2.7 grams Watercrystals hold 1 liter of water without dissolved salts .
Watercrystals is a polyacrylamide based copolymer of potassium, in a granular, non-water soluble, nontoxic, noncombustible, non-oxidizing and can be stored as non-hazardous material.

• Watercrystal Benefits
Watercrystals is the insurance of their crop. This store of water prevents the plant suffers water stress due to lack of rainfall or irrigation, and allows efficient use of fertilizers that dissolve in the moist environment, encouraging root development, consequently increasing crop productivity.
Watercrystals stored in a solid water up to six months and can be recharged continuously, each time more water comes in contact with them. This cycle of loading and unloading spaces generated unpacked and oxygenate the soil, favoring the growth of microorganisms and beneficial bacteria to plants.
Watercrystals  is certified internationally for use in organic farming and has a useful life of more than 10 years, becoming the irrigation system more efficient and economical in the world.

• How to use Watercrystals?
Watercrystals should always be applied at the root of the plant because it is there they work. Should be applied in the same way as crop planting, taking care to mix evenly with the soil.
It is always preferable to start off with the soil dry at the time of land preparation to establishment the crop. Then expect plenty of rain or watering. However, it is possible to apply on crops already established, finding the root in the leak of the plant, and mix the water and hydrated seeds with soil or substrate that was removed to uncover the root.

• Metering Water Seed
Pastures and fodder: 25 kg per hectare. Sowing the bowling and then cover them.
Crops in rows: 25 kg per hectare. Mixed with the soil and then fill the hole with mixture.
Trees and shrubs: 100 gr. For tree when final size greater than 1 meter. 50 gr. For trees less than 1 meter. Mixed with the soil and then fill the hole with mixture.
Hydroponics: 1 kg per cubic meter of substrate. Mix with the substrate.

Watercrystals- The Green Future of Agriculture

June 19, 2010

Dear All,

Welcome to our new blog, dedicated to Watercrystals! We believe that many of you are unaware of this excellent product, and the benefits it could bring to agriculture in dry parts of the world. Therefore, we have created this blog in order to give you easy-to-read information as well as the latest news and developments on Watercrystals.

We see Watercrystals as the future of agriculture. Watercrystals are water containers. You put them in the soil, and they will retain the water needed for the plants for many years. This means, that you will not need anymore water to make the plants grow, after you have watered them once! Taking into consideration the shortage of water in many parts of the world (The Middle East, Africa, South America etc) this is a truely revolutionary product. Detailed information on how the watercrystals work will come in later posts.

This is not only good from a humanitarian and environmental standpoint, but also from a business point of view. Investing in agriculture in dryer areas, with this product, make an excellent business opportunity.

Stay tuned for more information which will come shortly! In the meantime, join our Facebook group “Watercrystals – The Green of Agriculture” in order to receive the latest news updates. We will also shortly have a Youtube account where you will be able to watch our videos on Watercrystals.
